This review is extremely way overdue. I had my very first appointment in September of last year, and, since that visit, Would Never go Anywhere Else! It’s extremely, nearly impossible and very rare to find people who truly love their jobs and reflect it in their actions on Every Single Visit! There is quite literally, Genuine Joy and Enthusiasm in this entire team, Every Visit! The entire team at Homestead Animal Hospital, Jai, Lauren, and Dr Surber, were All, Very incredibly kind, professional, and helpful, and all worked absolutely perfectly together and seemed as though they were all family, (well, a Very Well Functioning and very Happy Family, anyway). We are all nervous when our fur babies aren’t well, and need the best of the best to help us through. Here they are. Relax and put your faith in this team, and you and your fur-babies will be so very happy you did! I am So Very Thankful you for the amazing and thorough care, that they gave to one of my little Fur Angels, Arty, who required some extra special attention and care. And, they are always so kind and caring for his brother, Solly, as well. From The way the consultation rooms are set up, (so comfortable, and cozy), to the way they call the next day to check on your fur baby, everything is done so incredibly well. It seems to me they treat Every pet, as they are their own! It’s Quite Easy to see, how it is, they have the reviews that they do! I could quite easily ramble on for another few thousand words about their greatness. It all comes down to one simple truth. No matter where you go, you will Never Receive, Perfect Service….. I will say without hesitation, that, these ladies come Very, Very Darn Close! (Okay, it really is perfect, but I know you will have to experience it to believe it)! It’s Absolutely Impossible to train Anyone to, “Care”. They either do or they don’t, and all of the staff here has an extra dose of “care” that they provide every single visit. I've been taking my 11-year-old dog to Dr. Surber for over 5 years, and she is truly the only person I trust to put my dog under anesthesia. She has always been so thorough, compassionate, and patient, and I never feel rushed or left with unanswered questions.
I also love the new office—it has such a warm, welcoming, homey feel. Every visit, the team takes the time to explain everything in a way that's easy to understand, and I always leave with a clear summary of the appointment, test results, and next steps.

Great experience! Our dog was treated with awesome care. She is shy and they made her feel comfortable. The office is clean and the staff was pleasant, attentive and wonderful to our dog. So glad we brought our dog here.

I'd like to warmly recommend Dr. Surber and the entire clinic team. They played a key role in detecting a mast cell tumor in our dog's skin and successfully performed the surgery to remove it.
The entire experience was excellent. Customer service was warm and caring, and we felt completely at ease throughout the process. Every step was explained clearly and we received clear instructions for at-home care. Mostly important, our dog was treated like a family member. Thank you for the entire team!

We love Dr. Surber and her new clinic. Our pups have been long time patients of hers and her care and compassion is unmatched. Homestead's fear free practice is warm and inviting. Our dogs have no clue they are even at the vets as they chill on the soft rug, stretch out on the couch and enjoy the basket of toys. Dr. Surber and her staff meet them where they are for their exams and no one leaves without a happy belly of treats.

I have two cats, both have visited. They are a no fear vet care so they really cared for my pets. One of my cats is really chill and the other can be a little anxious at times, but they both did very well and I owe that to how friendly and calm the staff is. The entire crew have very fun personalties and are a joy to talk to. Very informative, open minded indivuals that are happy to answer questions.
I always enjoy visiting and sometimes strangley my cats get jealous of the other leaving the home even though the only place they go is the vet. So obvious very good vibes.

Amazing service!!! They answered the phone right away and answered all of my questions with patience. My baby boy (brown one) had an ear infection and they were very kind with him as well as his sister that came for moral support. Their waiting rooms are very homey and definitely made a difference in the anxiousness of vets.
10/10 recommend and would go again!

I was a bit nervous about taking 2 of my 3 cats here since all reviews were from dog owners. After a conversation with Jay, learned Dr Surber has previous experience with the now defunct Cat Clinic in Cumming. I booked an appointment and took Uli & Napa in. I was so pleased that we were immediately taken to a room for cats only. The room had cat toys, treats, places to hide and, even better, calming scent in the air and on the towels and blankets. There is a tv with birds and squirrels eating and chirping. Very calming and stress free for all of us. Lauren & Jay did a pre interview, met the kitties and made sure they were handled gently and lovingly. Dr Surber was the same; gentle, aware of how nervous the boys were and performed tests quickly. Towards the end of the appointment, the boys had calmed down and were looking at the tv and searching the room.
All in all, this is not a “line up all pets” in a waiting room or factory style clinic and wait your turn type of vet. This is high quality, take the time to get to know your fur babies in a quiet & safe environment.
My boys enjoyed their treats and bandanas. And are proudly showing how brave they are by supporting Dr Surber and staff.
